Dr. Sareh Hasmadi (born September 5, 2054) is a Confederate medical doctor and one of the main characters in Tacoma. She served as the Medic of the 2088 Lunar Transfer Station Tacoma Crew.
Biography
Background
Sareh Hasmadi was born on September 5, 2054, possibly in the Confederacy of North American AgriPower Producers, and is of Southeast Asian descent as indicated by her name, specifically being descended from what is today known as Indonesia. She is a Muslim.
Prior to her position on Lunar Transfer Station Tacoma, she was the attending surgeon on the Fountain of Paradise Spaceport. She was transferred to Tacoma following the death of a patient during surgery for a fractured femur, allegedly due to the faulty judgement of the onboard medical AI, HEKA. Her inquiries to ODIN and Natali Kuroshenko about the AI's technical backlogs and a diary entry in her office drawer seem to suggest that Sareh remains deeply traumatized by the event. She struggles with anxiety attacks, something that her friendship with ODIN has helped her with.
Behind the Scenes
- Sareh's last name was originally spelled 'Hazmadi', as seen in early videos.
- The place where she was issued her Certification Document and possibly where she's from, Madison, Wisconsin, may be a reference to Human Head Studios who were from Madison. The reasoning of this is that they were a developer of immersive fiction games, the genre that inspired Tacoma and of which Tacoma could be argued to be a part of, who made the 2006 science fiction video game Prey, one of the first in the genre.
- Her anxiety attack scene in Biomedical was one of the last scenes made for Tacoma.
